Lake Vyrnwy is the ideal spot to come and escape to, and as a base for exploring Mid and North Wales.

Museums

Llangollen Exhibition Centre

Llangollen's all year, all weather site that hosts 4 fabulous exhibitions.
  1. Model Railway World - Relive childhood memories with this award winning exhibition of trains from all round the world.
  2. BBC Doctor WHO Exhibition - Take a trip back in time with the DOCTOR and re-visit over 30 years of Television history. It's the world's largest exhibition dedicated to the classic Sci-Fi series. See original costumes, props and memorabilia including Daleks and Cybermen! A must for all Sci-Fi lovers!
  3. DAPOL Toy Factory - Come and see how toys are made. From raw materials, through molding, painting and packing to the finished product. Britains last independent toy maker!
  4. Llangollen History Museum - Take a look back through 3000 years of Llangollens rich and intriguing history. Come and find out about the mining, quarrying, farming and development through the years to present day.

Motor Museum and Canal Exhibition

Take a trip down memory lane and marvel at the collection of cars, motor cycles and memorabilia dating from 1912 - 1970.

King Arthur's Labyrinth

Take the underground boat ride into spectacular caverns where Welsh tales are told of King Arthur with tableux and stunning sound and light effects. The journey ends along a subterranean river into the Corris Craft Centre.

Amgueddfa Syr Henry Jones Museum

A fascinating museum of Welsh rural life set in a 19th Century workman's cottage.

Mines

Sygun Copper Mine

In the heart of Snowdonia, this award winning underground audio-visual tour of 18th and 19th century copper mine is a must. The tour takes you through winding tunnels and colourful caverns.

Llechwedd Slate Caverns

Llywernog Silver-Lead Mine

Yawning chasms, ghostly tunnels and the flicker of candelight! Learn all about the "Boom Days" long ago and try panning for minerals!
